13. Health care expenses arising from accidents
By contracting this guarantee the insurer shall manage the payment of health care expenses required by the insured as a consequence of an accident covered by the policy until the insured has fully recovered, and for a maximum term of one year, beginning from the date of the accident.
This cover includes the following:
- Transportation expenses, immediately after the accident and those which are necessary for the due assistance of the injured party.
- Charges for pharmaceuticals and hospitalisation in clinics, medical centres and hospitals.
- Costs for the acquisition and fitting of the first orthopaedic, dental, optical and / or acoustic prosthesis that the insured requires due to the accident, by doctor's orders. This benefit is limited to 3,000 euros.
- The insured's travel expenses when being treated or examined in a different town, when deemed necessary by the insured's physician and with previous authorisation of the insurer.
- Medical charges, professional fees, surgical materials, stays in clinics and prosthetics, if the insured decides to undergo an operation to repair or correct impairments or damage caused by the accident covered by the policy which will have a permanent effect on the insured's physical appearance. This benefit is limited to 3,000 euros.
The operation and treatment must be performed within two years from the date of the accident.
