1. Death due to an accident
If the death of the insured is directly caused by an accident covered by the policy the insurer will indemnify the beneficiaries designated in the policy with the established sum insured indicated in the policy's schedule for the risk of death within a two year term, beginning from the date of the accident which occurred during the valid term of the insurance.
The beneficiary may request an advance from the insurer, to be deducted from the indemnity, which is equivalent to 10% of the insured sum in the case of death due to an accident, in order to cover the immediate expenses derived from the accidental death of the insured (burial, taxes, etc). The maximum amount permitted for the advance is 10,000 euros.
If, before the death of the insured, the insurer had paid an indemnity for permanent disability caused by the same accident, this amount shall be deducted from the indemnity payment corresponding to the death due to an accident cover.
